Embrace Your Curves and Inner Fashionista: The media certainly perpetuates an ideal body image for women that are rather thin and nubile. Commercials for trendy underwear are almost always modeled by very thin women, perpetuating a myth that curvier girls can’t or aren’t interested in being sexy too. When you have voluptuous hips and thighs, it can be frustrating to find the right garments to flatter you perfectly.

You can always feel and look you’re most beautiful

It’s important to remember that no matter what your body shape is. There are always ways to accentuate your best features while downplaying what you’re insecure about. One of the best ways to dress a curvy frame is with a flirty dress. Light and airy dresses are appropriate for any venue. From work, to play with young children to go out for cocktails, a great dress will be comfy and chic for any situation. An A-line shape is best for curvy physiques because it cinches in at the smallest part of the waist while flaring out at the hips. This creates an hourglass shape while also making your legs appear lean and miles long.

I know how frustrating jean shopping can be. You can try on several pairs only to discover that they fit in the legs but are too tight on the hips. When you go up a size, you’re left with a gap in the back, or simply a shape that isn’t what you had intended. Skinny jeans are one of the hardest styles to fit, but curvy girls shouldn’t be afraid of rocking them too.

Look for jeans that have a higher rise in the waist so that your silhouette will be sleek and streamlined. Avoid pieces that are low rise, or jeans that have a fade down the front of the thigh. This will only make your legs appear larger than they really are. When in doubt, straight-legged pants will work in a jiffy for a curvy figure. They’ll make your legs look longer by effortlessly cascading elegantly off your hips.

Anything tailored will also look lovely on a curvy girl, so try adding blazers and jackets to your wardrobe for an added degree of funk. The next time you go shopping, don’t let ill-fitting garments get you discouraged. Designer fashion for curve women does exist. You’re bound to find something that you’ll fall in love with and you may even be inspired by the style bug each day.
